The Misadventures of George The Chair

<<<Previous Story • Next Story>>>

The story of George the Wayward Chair continues...

It's been a few months since my last entry. I'm very happy to say that all is well. Instead of traveling, I stayed here (Alabama) and lived a life of semi leisure. I stayed on the property where Otis and his family were born. While there I hiked the woods each day, and stayed where ever I pleased at night, usually under some large tree. I found this to be very interesting. Most of that time was spent alone. When I got too lonely all I had to do was walk along the road, then it was only a matter of time before someone drove by; I'm sure they were wondered what I was doing walking around here. I think they wanted to know mostly because I'm sure they had never met a chair before. More times than not I was invited home with them or we just talked there along side the road.

Other times I would visit with the Otis' relatives, they lived across the street from the property. It was fascinating listening to them speak about the way things were when Otis' and his family lived there.

I heard them speak of Otis' return. When he comes I'm almost sure I'll see him because he hardly visits without coming to walk the land where he was born. I think it's almost as if he's not really back if he doesn't come around here. I'm sure he'll be excited to learn of my adventures in the few months I've been here. I will also take him along the paths I've made in the woods, and the places I've stopped each day to contemplate life and relax in the shade.
